Lead the design and implementation of programs and activities that provide opportunities for people living with a disability to pursue their educational, employment, social and recreational goals.

About the role

This role oversees community-based programs operating across the Broken Bay Diocese. These programs currently include Boonah Art Studio, afternoon and vacation care for school aged children, skill building programs, and social and recreational programs for people living with a disability.

The successful candidate will ideally have prior experience leading teams of people in designing and delivering group-based and one-on-one supports under the NDIS.

The role currently leads a team of circa 40 Activity Support Leaders and Activity Support Partners, although a key priority for the new Senior Manager will be to consult with NDIS participants, families, support coordinators and staff in the design and implementation of a range of new programs and activities.

There is an opportunity in this role to design and trial some innovative new programs.

This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday based in Waitara NSW.

Key Duties

  • Developing and maintaining positive, engaged relationships with clients and families, support coordinators, and other community organisations.
  • Designing and coordinating innovative programs and service offerings that reflect client preferences and service capacity.
  • Recruiting, training, supporting and encouraging a large team of coordinators and frontline staff to do great work every day.
  • Ensure the service remains compliant with the NDIS Practice Standards, rules and regulations, as well as organisational policies associated with safeguarding, risk management and quality management.
  • Ensure the financial viability of the service

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Prior experience leading teams in the disability or community services sector in a way that fosters strong teamwork and high levels of staff engagement
  • Knowledge of NDIS funding and operating requirements
  • Highly developed positive communication style and demonstrated skills in both written and verbal communications.
  • Experience designing and implementing new programs, activities or services in the community services sector
  • Understanding of CatholicCare’s Mission and Values and willingness to abide by same
  • Working With Children Check.
  • NDIS Workers Check.
  • NSW Drivers licence as you will be required to travel within the Broken Bay Diocese.
