About CatholicCare NT

CatholicCare NT is a Territory wide NGO with place based services across Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Wadeye, Daly River, Tiwi Islands, Jabiru and Southeast Alice Springs.

We provide a broad range of family counselling and support, financial wellbeing, domestic and family violence programs, housing, aged care advocacy, AOD, mental health, employment, and community development programs.

These programs are variously funded through NT and Australian Government contracts.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Team Leader to provide onsite leadership for CatholicCare’s programs in Milikapiti (Tiwi Islands).

The Team Leader is responsible for the integration of multiple programs as well as the leadership and integration of a multi-disciplinary team at Milikapiti. This includes managing the effective delivery of place-based services, overseeing site based administrative requirements and fostering key stakeholder relationships. The role's primary focus is on Child Care Operations and extends to supervising Safe House and Sports Program staff and coordinating visiting CCNT services to ensure a holistic approach to meeting community needs.

This position has a particular focus on leading and mentoring site staff, applying professional knowledge and support whilst providing direct services and managing complex client work.

What we are looking for

• Qualification in human services (or related field) with experience in relevant position
• Certificate 3 or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or willingness to study
• Minimum five years’ experience in relevant practice and team leadership
• Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people.

TIWI ISLAND

Comprising Bathurst and Melville Islands, with a population of around 2500, the Tiwi Islands are only 80km north of Darwin. The islands are home to the Tiwi people, who have a strong affiliation with their land and a distinctive culture and language.
