About the role

The Manager (internally known as a Practice Manager) will co-manage the strategic growth and day-to-day operations of a team of group facilitators who deliver services to parents. You will also support stakeholder relationships, and the coordination of training provided to practitioners in the not-for-profit (NFP) sector.

The Parenting & Child Development (PCD) team delivers a range of online and in-person parenting education courses (eg Circle of Security, Emotion Coaching, Tuning into Kids/Teens) to the general community and in partnership with local schools and NFPs. PCD also provides “train the trainer” courses in the innovative Keeping Kids in Mind and My Kids and Me courses. Our agency is an accredited provider of the Safe and Together model for working with family and domestic violence.

This role will be responsible for:

  • Providing direction & support to parenting group facilitators to achieve best practice and client outcomes
  • Fostering and maintaining positive working relationships with key stakeholders to achieve client, community and funding outcomes, and to support the provision of parenting courses and of training for practitioners
  • Monitoring quality assurance activities and providing specialist advice on service delivery issues, program outcomes and related matters
  • Providing ongoing guidance and supervision to develop and build staff capability and contribute to their professional development
  • Working collaboratively with other Children and Families Division managers and teams.
  • Facilitating some parenting groups or training

About you

You have experience in group work, training and supervision, and have worked in a community service organisation. You are able to lead, inspire and grow a team of professionals and contribute to positive stakeholder relationships.

Key requirements:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology, Adult Education or related field
  • Industry-relevant experience in managing services and supporting individuals and teams to deliver client outcomes and meet funding requirements
  • Licenses and ability to facilitate current evidence-based Parent Education courses including but not limited to: Circle of Security, Bringing Up Great Kids, Tuning into Teens, Tuning into Kids, 123 Magic and Emotion Coaching
  • Demonstrated understanding of Child Development, Parenting and Neuroscience theory and practice
  • Demonstrated capacity to implement a person-centred approach to service delivery
  • Demonstrated understanding of child protection, domestic and family violence and other relevant legislation
  • High level communication skills, strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Experience using electronic client record management systems
  • A driver’s licence and willingness to travel
  • A current Working with Children Check
  • Ability to undertake the duties of the role in accordance with CatholicCare’s Mission, Vision and Values
