Established in 1972, the North Sydney Community Centre (NSCC) provides welcoming and nurturing multi-disciplinary services including adult classes & workshops, After School Care (ASC) Explorers’ Playgroup, Produce Markets and Venue Hire.
ROLE
Rare opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager keen to use their strong relationship, operations, program and people management skills in a varied role looking to making a real impact in the community.
Reporting to the Management Committee, this role is responsible for supporting and mentoring 6 multi-disciplinary teams to deliver key programs whilst overseeing the marketing, finance and operational management of the centre. You get to assist in formulating and managing budgets whilst also effectively seeking out opportunities to engage the community in utilising the centre’s services.
This opportunity is ideally suited to someone looking to use and broaden their experience in Senior Management and Programs with previous not for profit experience, strong stakeholder relationship and team management skills. You get to lead a multi- disciplinary team of highly experienced coordinators and professionals and bring your own initiatives and ideas forward to the centre.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide Centre Leadership, staff management/development & human resource support.
- Oversee Marketing and Communications.
- Provide operational and financial management of all centre’s operations.
- Develop and manage policies and procedures.
- Identify and advise on risk management.
- Contribute to strategic planning, provide reporting and implement decisions made by management committee.
- Ensure review and implementation of annual Strategic Plan.
- Develop and implement operational plans, reviewing and advising accordingly.
- Provide support in policy and governance as determined by management committee.
YOUR SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
- Demonstrated experience in senior management role within non-profit organisation
- Previous experience in providing strong leadership whilst providing high level advice to Management Committee
- Proven ability to build inclusive welcoming and positive organisational culture and effectively manage staff accordingly
- Demonstrated operational and program management experience
- Outstanding relationship building capacity including excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams at multiple levels with broad range of stakeholders including staff, volunteers, Committee members, community members and Council.
- Sound understanding of budget management
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, develop and inspire a team, fostering harmonious and collaborative working environment where everyone works to achieve shared goals
- Strategic thinker with ability to build organisational capacity and pursue opportunities as they arise.
- Experience in marketing and community development
- Understanding of governance in the non-profit sector and/or after school care sectors
- Relevant Tertiary qualification or other relevant qualifications will be viewed favourably.
Desirable
- Experience of working as senior manager within community services/centre or not for profit organisation
- Experience managing diverse programs and activities and a multi-purpose facility
- Previous experience with programming, events, marketing and public speaking.
