As part of The George Institute’s ambitious plan to achieve global equity, they are expanding their Philanthropy team to scale their efforts and tackle some of the most pressing health challenges of our time.

ROLE

Newly created opportunity for an experienced Philanthropy Manager responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors with the capacity to contribute gifts of more than $1million to support projects.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will develop relationships with existing and new donors, you get to plan and build a pipeline to sustain financial growth.

The role will suit someone with demonstrated experience in major donor acquisition and stewardship who can work autonomously as well as part of a team. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and research high net worth individuals, building a strong pipeline of prospective major donors
  • Develop tailored engagement strategies to cultivate relationships and secure transformational gifts
  • Manage and grow portfolio of major donors
  • Prepare compelling proposals, presentations and impact reports
  • Organise, participate in events and networking opportunities to strengthen relationships and secure funding
  • Ensure stewardship that leads to repeat and increased giving, focusing meaningful engagement
  • Engage with and activate Executive Leadership and Board members to assist with the implementation of the major gifts’ strategy, wherever relevant.

YOUR SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Demonstrated experience in major donor acquisition and stewardship in the not-for-profit sector or related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and EQ skills for building and maintaining donor relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with skill for crafting persuasive pitches and proposals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals.
  • Understanding of philanthropic trends, donor motivations and stewardship strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices
  • Experience of working in the global health sector
