About the role
Join the dynamic team at Central Australian Women's Legal Service Inc as a Paralegal. This full-time role is based in Alice Springs, NT and will provide essential legal support to our experienced solicitors and lawyers. As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our clients receive the highest quality legal representation and assistance.
What you'll be doing
- Conducting legal research and analysis to support solicitors in preparing legal documents, briefs and court submissions
- Assisting with the preparation of client files, including organising and maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Liaising with clients, court representatives and other stakeholders to gather information and coordinate appointments
- Providing administrative support to the legal team, such as scheduling, file management and general office duties
- Staying up-to-date with changes in legislation and legal procedures to ensure compliance
- Demonstrating a strong commitment to social justice and the empowerment of women in our local community
What we're looking for
- Relevant legal or paralegal qualifications, or equivalent experience
- Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders
- A compassionate and empathetic approach when working with vulnerable clients
- Familiarity with legal procedures and court processes
- Proficiency in using legal research tools and databases
