About the role

Join the dynamic team at Central Australian Women's Legal Service Inc as a Paralegal. This full-time role is based in Alice Springs, NT and will provide essential legal support to our experienced solicitors and lawyers. As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our clients receive the highest quality legal representation and assistance.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting legal research and analysis to support solicitors in preparing legal documents, briefs and court submissions
• Assisting with the preparation of client files, including organising and maintaining accurate records and documentation
• Liaising with clients, court representatives and other stakeholders to gather information and coordinate appointments
• Providing administrative support to the legal team, such as scheduling, file management and general office duties
• Staying up-to-date with changes in legislation and legal procedures to ensure compliance
• Demonstrating a strong commitment to social justice and the empowerment of women in our local community

What we're looking for

• Relevant legal or paralegal qualifications, or equivalent experience
• Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders
• A compassionate and empathetic approach when working with vulnerable clients
• Familiarity with legal procedures and court processes
• Proficiency in using legal research tools and databases
