About the Role

As a Customer Service Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for our 5 GP clinics with 8 doctors on-site, ensuring smooth patient experiences from appointment management to billing and Medicare claims.

Reporting to the Team Leader – GP Customer Service, your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing friendly, professional service to patients and visitors.
  • Managing appointments and maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Processing Medicare claims, private health insurance rebates, and patient payments.
  • Supporting GPs, nurses, and allied health teams in delivering efficient care.
  • Assisting bulk billing and low-cost clients, ensuring community health accessibility.
  • Strong de-escalation skills – maintaining professionalism, handling challenging situations
  • Effectively managing client interactions, including handling concerns with professionalism and maintaining a solution-focused approach.
  • Upholding confidentiality and privacy principles in healthcare.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in General Practice or Medical Reception (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Best Practice client management software (highly desirable).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Understanding of Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) billing (advantageous).
