Philanthropy Senior Coordinator

Children's Cancer Institute

When you step into a role, what do you want the purpose of the company you work for to be? How does that align with the individual purpose that motivates your ambition?

As the only independent Medical Research institute in Australia focused on childhood cancer, our purpose is to translate and discover (through world class research), new treatments that will cure cancer and reduce the side effects in children and adolescents.

We save & change lives. At Children’s Cancer Institute we believe that a life should be long. Cancer cuts life short for hundreds of children every year before they’ve even had a chance to make their mark. We aim to not only improve their quality of life but eradicate the cause of their pain.

Choose to be part of a team that will nurture your talent and grow your career, so you too can contribute to this purpose. Together, we can, and we will cure all children of cancer. It’s not if. It’s when.

As our Philanthropy Senior Coordinator, you will support the implementation of the Gift in Wills (GIW) strategy, providing best-practice relationship management to new and existing supporters. This is achieved through personalised and meaningful engagement.

As our Philanthropy Senior Coordinator in our Fundraising and Marketing team your purpose will be to:

  • Support the delivery of the bequest program
  • Provide outstanding customer service and build relationships with existing supporters through phone calls and impactful written communication
  • Ensure our supporters find purpose and fulfilment in their support of our mission and feel connected to the science and our future in the Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre (MCCCC)
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure activity is delivered to agreed timelines and budget, as outlined in the business plan.
  • Support the implementation of the digital GIW strategy in collaboration with the Marketing team
  • Support the Philanthropy Relationship Managers on key events, administration tasks and coordinating marketing deliverables
  • Assist with research to identify new bequest prospects
  • Keep accurate supporter records, profiles and manage reporting in Salesforce.
  • Support in gathering relevant GIW family stories to be used across digital and mail
  • Liaise in a productive and collegiate manner with internal colleagues and work collaboratively towards shared goals.

To succeed you will:

  • Have proven ability to manage internal and external stakeholders to successfully deliver concurrent projects, using a project management tool, such as Monday.com
  • Have experience using Salesforce, or similar CRM
  • Show excellent listening and communications skills both written and verbal.
  • Be highly organised, self-motivated, detail-oriented and professional
  • Have exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and develop meaningful relationships.
  • Be a collaborative team player with a strong commitment to achieving the most positive outcomes for the whole Marketing & Fundraising team.

We will support you to be your best with benefits that include but are not limited to:

  • Access to our ‘FlexBEST’ program – true flexibility from day 1
  • Focus on employee wellbeing, including a leading EAP program, and up to 5 gifted wellbeing days off (paid) per year
