About the team
This position sits within the Marketing & Fundraising Division (M&F) of Cancer Council NSW. Community Fundraising works at a local level to form sustainable relationships to ensure to ensure growth and sustainability of our fundraising portfolio.
About the role
The Community Operations Administrator is responsible for providing organisational and operational support to the community fundraising team, for the effective delivery of community fundraising campaigns.
Base location is flexible to Cancer Council regional offices.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Coordinate the administration and financial processes for community fundraising events and activities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files for all events, including website management
- Maintain current information in organisational databases for volunteers, supporter contacts, sponsors and vendors
- Support event planning, tracking and reporting as required
- Create and post social media content for fundraising campaigns
- Support management of Community Fundraising VIP supporters as directed
- Continuously review process and practice based on a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and learning
- Participate in discussions to improve the community fundraising program
- Respond to all incoming enquiries for fundraising events
- Deliver systems and admin training to the team as required.
- Recruit, train and lead events administration volunteers; provide support to events support volunteers and committees where required
- Maintain collateral and supplies inventory by checking stock level, anticipating needed supplies, placing orders and verifying receipts
- Attend community fundraising event meetings and events as required
- Assist with events marketing and collateral production to promote community fundraising events
- Provide key support to overall team fundraising operations as guided by regional manager
- Perform specific operational tasks related to facilities management, fleet management, Work Health & Safety and/or risk & compliance as requested from time to time by the Finance, Strategy & Operations & People & Communications Divisions to support the safe and efficient operation of the office location, fleet vehicles, and/or other assets or services
About you
Essential:
- Demonstrated high-level organisational skills with ability to multitask/manage multiple projects simultaneously and achieve results on deadline
- Excellent communication skills and high level of customer service
- Demonstrated experience and interest in event or fundraising support
- Demonstrated skills providing administrative support including data entry, data management and website management
- Experience in working with and managing volunteers
- Competence in MS Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and innovation with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel as some weekend and evening work will be required
- Current Class C Drivers’ license
Desirable:
- Knowledge and experience of media, particularly social media, marketing and collateral development
- Knowledge and experience in a database management program
