About the team

The Fundraising Coordinator role sits within the industry-leading Mass Fundraising Unit, working on the Regular Giving portfolio, which makes up approximately 25% of the organisation’s income. It is a key role which liaises between internal teams and external suppliers, providing administerial support, collaborating with key stakeholders and ensuring the effective execution of Regular Giving campaigns.

About the role:

The Fundraising Coordinator supports the acquisition and development of Cancer Council supporters. This position forms an important part of a cross-channel team who manage external face-to-face, digital and telemarketing agencies and is an important contributor to the fundraising targets for the organisation.

The Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the effective execution of direct marketing campaigns, including regular liaison with internal and external stakeholders, positive relationship management, and tracking results against targets.

This is full time 12-month contract ending in March 2026.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Contribute to the overall strategy by effectively executing channel strategies and supporting the team strategy.
  • Conduct in-person training sessions/ mystery shopping of face-to-face fundraisers.
  • Liaise with third party fundraising agencies to ensure accountabilities are delivered on time.
  • Campaign tracking and reporting for all direct marketing acquisition channels.
  • Expenditure tracking and reporting by channel and cost centre.
  • Manage invoice processing and cost allocation.
  • Liaise and support briefing of external suppliers including agencies, copywriters, designers, printers, mystery shoppers and mailing houses for the execution of direct marketing campaigns.
  • Work closely with internal suppliers (Supporter Experience Unit, Marketing & Communications Unit, Digital Unit) for creative sign off, fulfilment and reporting campaign requirements.
  • Maintain archive of campaign creative and post campaign analysis.
  • Proof copy, call guides, printing proofs and review campaign lives.
  • Ensure stock including premiums, uniforms and other collateral is up to date and distributed as needed.

About you

Essential:

  • Commitment to the mission of Cancer Council
  • Knowledge of - or willingness to learn about – face-to-face fundraising and direct marketing
  • Excellent attention to detail & ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness in tasks
  • Proven project management skills and organisational abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and relationship building skills
  • Basic analytical skills with a willingness to learn and work with data
  • Proficiency in using Excel
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively work on multiple projects concurrently and prioritise workload
  • Adaptable and responsive to a changing environment
  • Be a professional, willing, enthusiastic, reliable team member contributing to a positive working environment
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Problem solving skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in fundraising or marketing
  • F2F fundraising experience
  • Experience of interpreting and acting upon data reports
  • Experience in processing invoices and tracking expenditure
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, Canva and email marketing platforms
