About the role:

The Australian Cancer Plan (Plan) is a ten-year initiative aimed at improving prevention, screening, treatment and management of all cancers for all people in Australia. The plan has accessibility at its core, with the aim to provide equitable and comprehensive support to ALL people affected by cancer. In relation to this plan, the Government has formed the Australian Cancer Nursing and Navigation Program (ACNNP). The vision for the ACNNP is to deliver ‘Equitable high quality, culturally safe cancer nursing and navigation services for all people with cancer, irrespective of tumour type, cultural background or geography’.

Cancer Council NSW is leading the Technology Stream of the establishment phase for Navigation Program and is looking to appoint a Lead Business Analyst to identify navigation, knowledge, quality, and system improvement opportunities and implement new technology solutions or system enhancements to successfully deliver program outcomes. This transformative role works closely with program stakeholders across the federation to ensure that solutions and system enhancements are developed and delivered in a coordinated manner.

This role will be a 18–24-month contract.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the overall scope of the program, business needs of each stream, their associated costs and benefits and alignment with the IT landscape of each state.
  • Facilitate discovery, analysis, and playback sessions to understand and document functional and non-functional requirements of each stream.
  • Work with the stream leads, state-based delivery teams, and external resources to agree upon and implement appropriate solutions that meet the program’s business need.
  • Work closely with other business analysts, developers, and QA resources throughout the project to ensure the solution is developed/delivered as specified.
  • Where required, manage the solution development/delivery, tracking and reporting progress, managing/escalating risks, issues, dependencies and change requests.
  • Where required, assist with planning and managing system implementation including user training, change and communication planning and delivery.

About you

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience, acting as a liaison between business and technical representatives and / or external suppliers in an agile ecosystem.
  • Experience in functional analysis, mapping of business processes and requirements and a passion and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with contemporary digital design and development practices such as customer journey mapping, service design, design thinking, and Human Centred Design.
  • Capable of listening and assimilating requirements from a diverse range of stakeholders and methods, identifying potential outcomes and consequences while maintaining relationships.
  • Exceptional Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – ability to conceptualise, visualise, articulate and solve complex problems, and make decisions that make sense based on available information.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills – ability to negotiate consensus where competing points-of-view exist, and ability to manage scope and feasibility expectations.
  • Understanding organisational context and providing strategic thinking and decision-making in support of the design and implementation of new systems and the enhancement of existing systems.
  • Written and verbal communication skills – ability to structure, present information clearly and interestingly and engage varying audiences.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related discipline.
  • Recent experience working with CRM and CX platforms.
  • Background within health space would be advantageous.
  • Exposure to a project management methodology or project management experience including planning, management of scope, issues, risks and change.
  • Proven ability to show initiative and deliver in environments of ambiguity.
