About the team

The Philanthropy Unit plays a vital role in ensuring the future viability and growth of CCNSW by broadening and strengthening our fundraising base through the development of strong and lasting relationships with our major donors, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, aligned to our brand. These relationships will deliver long term, sustainable income streams for the organisation from the business sector.

About the role:

To grow the financial value of Cancer Council partnerships and build a sustainable fundraising portfolio through acquiring new opportunities and deepening existing partnerships.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Together with the Head of Philanthropy, develop a clear growth strategy and targets for the Partnerships Team
  • Source, grow and secure new long term, sustainable funding opportunities, with a focus on new business development within the portfolio
  • Create meaningful engagement opportunities for all new prospects and existing partners to ensure a positive experience is had by anyone engaging with Cancer Council NSW
  • Oversee the development of tools, resources and assets for use in developing partnerships (standard and bespoke)
  • Build and maintain networks to grow Cancer Council NSW’s presence in the market
  • Manage high profile relationships with top level partners
  • Inform the strategy and oversee the development of engagement plans for all existing partnerships
  • Support Partnerships team to ensure quality communication and clear processes and structures are developed to track and maintain new and existing partnerships.
  • Support Partnerships team with personal and professional development goals

About you

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and/or demonstrate transferable skills in a similar or related role
  • Five + years of fundraising experience in the NFP sector
  • Proven record of developing high quality partnerships and partnership strategies
  • Experience in developing donor relationships
  • Experience in leading high performing teams
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Broad-based knowledge of best practices in various facets of partnership management
  • Demonstrated donor development skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and ability to negotiate and influence others
  • Must be target driven with a passion for achieving growth targets
  • Highly professional and articulate, with a genuine passion for the organisation
  • Proven ability to engage high value executive and board members and donor/client style relationships in a strategic and planned manner
  • Sound project and budget management skills
  • High level of competency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and basic understanding of databases
  • Exceptional time management skills with managing multiple projects simultaneously
