About the team

The Philanthropy Unit plays a vital role in ensuring the future viability and growth of CCNSW by broadening and strengthening our fundraising base through the development of strong and lasting relationships with our major donors, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, aligned to our brand. These relationships will deliver long term, sustainable income streams for the organisation from the business sector.

About the role:

The Partnership Specialist is responsible for identifying and developing new corporate and philanthropic partnerships and managing the relationships of existing partners. This includes building and strengthening engagement to create sustainable relationships that align with CCNSW’s mission and meeting agreed revenue growth targets and outcomes for the Philanthropy Unit.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Developing compelling and well researched proposals to the interest of corporate and philanthropic organisation’s to significantly grow the value of the Partnerships portfolio.
  • Negotiation and contracting new and renewed agreements with partners to drive continued relationship and revenue growth
  • Nurture, grow and manage a portfolio of corporate partners to support the Partnerships Lead and meet fundraising targets.
  • Relationship management of existing Beneficiary partnerships and corporate partners, with a focus on retention and growth of portfolio
  • Develop and implement an engagement strategy and account plan for each partner to increase the value of existing partnerships, including a communications plan that meets both their needs, and the organisations needs in line with the national strategic plan for the Philanthropic program.
  • Identify and solicit beneficiary partners or corporate partners for growth and expansion in various sectors and industries.
  • Track, forecast and meet income targets for specific beneficiaries or corporate partners
  • Ensure all partners receive invoices and receipts in a timely manner
  • Day to day management of vital beneficiary or major corporate partners, communicating and negotiating with the team, executing contractual agreements and advising on marketing opportunities, whilst also providing best in class supporter experience
  • Attend partnership events in conjunction with executive reps to drive partnership engagement
  • Work with Corporate Partners and internal Cancer Council team to identify processes for improvement to enhance partnership experience.
  • Work with the Partnerships Lead to create partnerships program (standard and bespoke), packages reporting metrics, marketing tools, templates and assets for new and existing beneficiary or corporate partners.
  • Leverage the Cancer Council NSW system’s Engage CRM and SharePoint to capture up to date contact details as well as prospecting activities in move management.

About you

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and/or demonstrate transferable skills in a similar or related role
  • A proven track record in successful business development and/or account management
  • Strong prospecting, lead generation and business development skills and account management skills
  • An excellent understanding of the key success factors in building sustainable partnerships
  • Exceptional relationship, influencing, networking and communication skills and proven ability to develop productive, results-focused relationships with income growth.
  • Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to develop business proposals from concept stage to conversion.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Proven ability to engage high value executive and board members and donor/client style relationships in a strategic and planned manner
  • A professional attitude, strong team focus with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and build relationships with people of all backgrounds
  • Sound knowledge of fundraising standards, principles, policies and procedures
  • Sound project and budget management skills
  • High level of competency with excel, word, PowerPoint and basic understanding of database.
  • Valid driver’s licence
