About the team
The Strategy & Operational Performance team is responsible for providing the insights, frameworks, and transformation expertise to support CCNSW leadership in the development, execution, and ongoing evaluation of the new CCNSW five-year strategy to maximise organisational impact.
The four key focus areas for the team are:
- Strategy and planning
- Business improvement and transformation
- Performance, evaluation, and insights
- Project portfolio management.
About the role
This role will work closely with the Strategic Projects Lead, to support the successful delivery of key strategic projects that will enhance organisational performance and maximise impact – to reduce the impact of cancer faster! A key element of this role is to work dynamically and adapt to changing project requirements and organisational priorities.
This role will be full time - Parental Leave cover ending in June 2026.
Key responsibilities of the role
- Support the design, development, and implementation of strategic projects to ensure effective execution of the organisation’s strategy, adhering to agreed scope, quality, and timelines.
- Assist in the coordination and management of strategic projects.
- Collaborate with colleagues and subject matter experts across the organisation.
- Develop project deliverables in collaboration with the Strategic Projects Lead, and ensure timely, accurate and concise communication to key project stakeholders.
- Prepare high quality project management documentation such as project plans, scope documents, timelines, communication plans, workshops presentations, updates and reports.
- Contribute to the strategic and operational plans for the project team.
- Use and continue to embed the use of project management tools and frameworks across CCNSW projects.
- Assist in addressing business improvement opportunities and managing project risks and issues.
- Conduct post-project implementation reviews and evaluations.
- Adhere to all CCNSW internal policies and external legislation i.e. Privacy Act, PCI Compliance, Charitable Fundraising Act requirements, financial controls etc.
- Contribute to the documentation of internal policies and processes.
About you
Essential
- Proven experience in managing and implementing projects, including planning and delivery of projects on time, in scope and to agreed quality.
- Critical analysis and strategic thinking skills, including the ability to synthesise information, explore problems and develop solutions.
- Experience identifying, engaging, and collaborating with a range of internal and external project stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
- Ability to work autonomously, and in a self-directed capacity and as part of a small high-performing team.
- Experience in identifying opportunities to enhance business performance.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to build rapport and facilitate trusting and credible relationships, including with senior management.
- Change management support experience.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and organisational priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable
- Strong strategic thinking and project support experience.
- Experience in supporting projects within a complex environment.
