Conservation Council of Western Australia (CCWA) is the state’s foremost not-for-profit, non-government conservation and environment organisation. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Human Resources Officer is responsible for:

  • Managing employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding and offboarding.
  • Preparation of employment agreements, variations and coordination of compliance forms required.
  • Coordinating and implementing staff development and training programs.
  • Coordinate probation and annual reviews with respective line managers and staff.
  • Assist in developing operational training requirements appropriate for the workforce.
  • Maintain and organise personnel records and ensure compliance with human resources policies and procedures.
  • Manage the Employee Assistance Program with the service provider.
  • Assist with updating policies and procedures.
  • Handle confidential information while adhering to privacy principles.
  • Provide general human resources administrative support and respond to staff queries.
  • Contribute to health and safety initiatives and manage occupational health and safety including incident management, working from home compliance and other matters.
  • Keeping all team members informed of various public holidays, annual events etc.
  • Coordinate whole of staff events including group training, team building and end of year function.
  • Monitoring and administration of the human resources mailbox including calendar scheduling.
  • Assist with fortnightly payroll processing and monthly superannuation lodgements.
  • Interpretation and application of applicable award, implementation of Fair Works requirements and keeping up to date with occupational health and safety issues.
  • Other duties as required.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least 2 years of progressive human resources operations experience.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated employee relations and conflict resolution
  • Ability to implement digital platforms to enhance workflow.
  • Knowledge of Fair Work, Awards and related legislation governing human resources.
  • Proficient in various software technologies and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.

SUCCESS INDICATORS

  • Assist in developing performance indicators for management and reporting.
  • Full circle of processes completed in a timely fashion.
  • Managing and scheduling position interviews, probation reviews, annual reviews and exit interviews promptly.
  • Providing accurate and helpful advice and guidance where appropriate.
  • Coordinating appropriate whole of organisation training requirements and assisting with professional development training for individual staff.
  • Management of internal workforce records and developing improved filing systems.

ESSENTIAL

  • WA Drivers Licence
  • National Police Certificate

DESIRABLE

  • Relevant qualification
  • First Aid Certificate

KEY DETAILS

  • Hours: Part-Time (22.50 hours per week, 0.6 FTE). Flexible work arrangements will be considered.
  • Location: West Perth, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
  • Salary: Social and Community Services (WA) Interim Award ($77,333 pa to $84,463 pa, pro-rata part-time) + superannuation.
