The Centre for Armed Violence Reduction (CAVR, armedviolencereduction.org) develops systems to reduce illicit arms and ammunition use and incidents, especially in fragile situations. CAVR is based in Sydney with personnel and partners in a range of Pacific, African, and Latin American countries.
The new General Manager role leads the management of CAVR, which has just doubled in size, and helps enable growth into the future.
Role Description
You will manage:
- Planning, budgeting, income and expenditure - whole of CAVR as well as project-level.
- Our HR system and payroll, along with safety oversight with our security partner the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) in Papua New Guinea.
- Compliance reporting, arranging audits, reports to the charity regulator, taxation, and bookkeeping oversight.
- Project reporting and acquittals, including assigning writing to relevant staff.
- Grant applications, including assigning writing to relevant staff.
Requirements
- Business or operations management of a small organisation or large project.
- Interest in working for a not-for-profit.
- Work in our Head Office at Macquarie University in Sydney.
