About the Role
The Practice Leader is responsible for designing, developing, assessing, and delivering high-quality, evidence informed training and coaching workshops that equips the workforce to navigate an evolving external landscape and the complexities of working with families accessing services.
This will include facilitating a variety of training and coaching programs offered by the Centre, including Family Preservation and Reunification Response Program, Case Notes, BICPM, Trauma-Informed Practice, Young People Experiencing Violence at Home, Supervision & Leadership, MARAM, Residential Care training and many more (refer to https://www.cfecfw.org.au/learning-development/).
You will work closely with the Development team to provide expert advice, the Administration team to ensure smooth operations, and the broader Workforce Learning & Development (WLD) team to uphold the highest standards in training and coaching delivery.
Workforce Learning and Development Unit
Workforce Learning and Development (WLD) Unit is responsible for the development and delivery of accredited and non-accredited learning and development opportunities to members and non-members, including dynamic online delivery and eLearning. The team works closely with the community services sector to identify and develop learning and development that reflects and leverages the Centre’s leadership role within the sector and meets industry needs. This team supports the Centre in its business development by managing a number of L&D projects and submitting funding and strategic submissions to stakeholders and funding providers.
Our goal is to deliver excellence in learning and development, strengthening the capability of the child, youth and family services’ workforce to deliver better outcomes for children, young people and families.
Our strategic priorities are to:
- Build the Centre’s readiness, including its systems and capacity, to deliver evidence-informed workforce capability building.
- Transform the sector through learning and development that changes practice systemically.
- Co-create learning and development content with practitioners, subject matter experts and experts by experience.
- Strengthening the knowledge and expertise of the sector through nationally accredited training.
Reporting Line
Reports to: Executive Manager, Workforce Learning & Development
Key Accountabilities
Training design and delivery
- Deliver and assess new and, where needed, existing training courses and modules
- Administer assessment and feedback using approved assessment tools
- Liaise regularly with all participants to maintain high quality support
- Develop training resources as per the requirements of training packages as required
- Provide SME advice to eLearning for the development of modules as needed
- Maintain skills and knowledge of current practice
- Follow policies and procedures to highest compliance standards
- Ensure evaluation of training content and evaluation of training delivery with continual growth for improvement
Coaching
- Facilitate coaching to a high standard to build capability in the sector
- Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Assisting in establishing, monitoring and revising quality assurance processes, including the collection of fidelity data and implementation data and the establishment of monitoring systems
- Observing, analysing and reporting on program adherence processes and measures and troubleshoot any problems
- Assisting in designing and delivering other implementation support activities as needed
Administration
- Make sure all participants files are maintained, compliant and up to date
- Develop new training resources with industry consultation
- Analyse training resources and refine training and/or assessment where applicable
- Where required, support the Senior Administration Officer to provide monthly reports on all training activities to the Centre
General
- Work collaboratively with other staff in the Centre.
- Contribute to all training project plans and carry out all duties in a manner consistent with the strategic directions of the Centre
- Advocate and model a commercial and customer service focus in all activities taken within the Centre.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential
- TAE40116/TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- A strong commitment to the development and dissemination of evidence-informed practice
- Relevant community services qualification
- Relevant management and/or practical experience within a child and family services organisation
- Experience in training in a classroom environment
- Ability to continue to develop practitioners professionally to maintain currency of skills, knowledge and qualification.
Knowledge
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the development and delivery of accredited training as required by AQF and ASQA requirements
- Understanding of the child, youth and family services system in Victoria
- Understanding of accredited and non-accredited training programs
- Proven recent and relevant industry experience in the area of delivery
Skills
- Verbal and written communication skills of a high order
- Training, assessment and instructional design of accredited training
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet tight time lines
- Capacity to work in a team
- Information technology skills of a high standard
- Ability to facilitate different modes of training eg: hybrid, online, in person efficiently and effectively
- A strong customer service orientation
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Proven track record developing, delivering and assessing accredited training
- Ability to contextualise training to participant requirements
Qualifications
- A relevant tertiary qualification in the community services sector, training or education (or at least 5 years equivalent experience).
- TAE40116/TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is required.
