Supervision Coordinator - Switch to Social Work

About the role

The Supervision Coordinator for the Switch to Social Work program will be responsible for the planning, content development and delivery of this bespoke supervision model, a trial of the child and family services employment-based Master of Social Work (Child and Family Practice) program. The trial is funded by the Victorian Government and the role will work closely with Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) colleagues and staff at La Trobe University as the provider of the academic program.

The position is responsible for the delivery, coordination, and reporting the of following activities:

  • Undertake project planning, development and delivery of clinical supervision training in individual and group formats.
  • Contribute to the delivery of other supervision-related training provided by the Centre to the Switch to Social Work participants and supervisors.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and research components of the broader Switch to Social Work program.
  • Develop reports and options papers as needed for the Project Board and governance groups.
  • Other duties as required, including administrative duties and project research.
  • This position also contributes to the Centre’s activities and works collaboratively with colleagues.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role you will have:

Experience (desired):

  • Current knowledge and understanding of the child and family services sector in Victoria.
  • Experience as an AASW recognised supervisor.
  • Experience in developing and delivering induction and training sessions, professional development workshops/communities of practice/reflective sessions and accompanying resources.
  • Experience in consulting with senior stakeholders, including executive and senior management and partnering with organisations to achieve goals.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication, including ability to draft complex plans, reports, guidelines and promotional material.
  • Reflective and critical thinker with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple partner organisations, foster a learning culture, facilitate information flow, and create networks and connections.
  • Ability to balance evidence, research and lived experience to design innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated project management planning and delivery.
  • Demonstrated team management skills and leadership.

Qualifications (required):

  • Tertiary qualification in social work with at least five years’ experience in the provision of clinical supervision.
