 Are you an experienced organiser who likes seeing members join and get active to win during bargaining? Do you enjoy guiding members through disputes and helping delegates build the confidence to do the same? Are you a consistent recruiter? Do you think that governments should implement policies that secure local jobs and Australian made products? 

 You might be the experienced organiser we are looking for to take our union to the next level in QLD (with some travel into Northern NSW). This role is based out of our Brisbane Office however will also have some regional responsibilities requiring travel (there is flexibility about when that travel happens). The role would suit an organised and systematic organiser who likes to spend their days in members’ workplaces.

About Our Union

The Manufacturing Division is an autonomous division of the CFMEU and members are currently voting to form a new union, the TFTU. The district this role works in is diverse, representative, and growing. Our organisers work across all of our coverage areas which includes furnishing, timber, textiles and paper products.

Selection Criteria:

Essential

  • Experience as a union organiser.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake enterprise agreement negotiations.
  • Experience problem-solving to resolve issues.
  • Experience implementing organising frameworks to recruit, retain and mobilise members.
  • Skills in identifying, developing, and coaching workplace leaders.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency using computers.
  • A current full driver’s licence.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Right of Entry permit.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.

 Desirable

  • Ability to speak a community language.

 The successful applicant will be offered an attractive remuneration package, including the necessary tools of the trade.
