As part of a small and dynamic team, you will be responsible for driving existing projects forward, while also supporting the wider team to help deliver on an ambitious marketing and fundraising plan.

You will be a career fundraiser who is data-led with a strong track record of building, implementing, managing, and delivering outcomes through successful fundraising strategies. You will have a “roll up your sleeves” attitude, work with agility and be able to problem solve well.

Developing relationships with donors, influencers, members of the NF community and broader network of supporters will be an important part of the role, as will a good understanding of the marketing behind effective fundraising.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for the execution of a fundraising strategy across key revenue streams including individual giving, community engagement, while also supporting corporate / grants funding.

Your role will focus on acquisition, stewardship, and retention; developing efficiencies, as well as generating and diversifying fundraising income.

Use of data and creative thinking will be needed to shape and grow these fundraising opportunities.

Individual Giving:

Lead the individual giving portfolio, from single gifts to recurring giving, supporting occasional HNWI events, as well as developing two appeals (tax and Christmas).

You will be responsible for the development of all assets that will support your fundraising activities, so experience copy writing and exposure to design programs like Canva is recommended.

You will help source stories, write, edit, and produce media content, including written, spoken and broadcast materials

Community Fundraising:

Manage community fundraising, from actively identifying, recruiting, cultivating, and stewarding fundraisers.

You will lead some initiatives (Steps Towards a Cure) and support others, while also working to growing fundraising in externally-run mass participation events.

Steps Towards a Cure:

Manage Steps Towards a Cure (STAC), a relatively new virtual fundraising campaign that sits alongside NF Awareness month activations in May. You will be responsible for actively identifying, recruiting, cultivating, and stewarding fundraisers; leveraging media, corporate and community networks and contacts to drive engagement; and manage campaign budgets ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve maximum ROI.

Corporate and Grants:

Work with the HMF to identify and develop submissions for grant funding and support with building corporate pipelines.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A well-rounded fundraising experience across various revenue streams, as well as a good appreciation for marketing fundamentals
  • Proven success in achieving fundraising revenue targets through relationship management, including events, community fundraising and individual giving
  • Exceptional communication and writing/editing skills
  • Strong time management abilities with a focus on meeting deadlines
  • Have analytical skills and the ability to assimilate health information into a succinct lay summary
  • Availability to work weekends to attend fundraising events. These events will also be interstate from time to time throughout the year.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems (salesforce preferred), Canva and MS Office products.
  • Ability to build on existing fundraising strategies and collaborate effectively with teams, stakeholders, and suppliers.
  • A deep understanding of fundraising trends and strategies.
  • Experience in designing and implementing successful fundraising campaigns.
  • Confidence in handling multiple projects under pressure.
  • A small team mindset, willing to roll up your sleeves to get the work done
