Children’s Tumour Foundation
The Children's Tumour Foundation (CTF) is the national patient advocacy and support organisation for people living with neurofibromatosis (NF) in Australia. NF refers to a group of complex genetic conditions that cause tumours to form on nerves, under the skin and deep in the body, including in the brain and spine. The primary objective of the organisation is to support, educate and connect the 13,000 people in Australia who are living with NF. The CTF creates awareness, advocates for better health outcomes and encourages funding into promising research with the hope of finding more effective treatment options.
Position Purpose
This position is an initial 9 month maternity contract with the opportunity to extend.
The Marketing and Fundraising Manager (MFM) reports to the CEO and plays a key role in helping to grow the profile of the organisation and fundraising portfolio. As part of a small and dynamic team, you will have opportunity to develop and drive your own projects forward, while also supporting the wider team to help deliver on an ambitious marketing and fundraising plan. You will be creative, outcome-driven, and keen to work in a fast-paced, yet collaborative and friendly environment within a small team. Developing relationships with donors, influencers, members of the NF community and broader network of supporters will be an important part of the role.

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS
Oversee the paid, earned and owned channels for CTF, maintaining brand consistency across channels and developing content for web, EDM, and social media.
- Social media management: Develop and implement the social media strategy and content marketing for all CTF social media channels, growing audience numbers and engagement.
- Email management: Develop and distribute the monthly NF round up as well as ad hoc special announcements (EDM)
- Website management: Maintain the website to ensure our audience remain informed about opportunities to engage with us, ensuring optimisation across devices
- Design & brand management: Develop and oversee all branded materials, including presentations, annual report, collateral, etc. Support both MFT & SST, as needed, to develop materials that promote the work of the CTF, and understanding of NF.
- Paid media support: Work with an agency to improve marketing acquisition strategies and performance, working to improve our search visibility and increase traffic through SEO, SEM and biddable media (Meta). Ad/creative development and internal reporting on results are included.
FUNDRAISING
- Manage appeals: Lead end-to-end omnichannel campaigns, during tax and Christmas, including theme development, case for support, case study management and copywriting, campaign management, development of appeal communications plans, brief writing and supplier management.
- Manage the individual giving portfolio (one-off & recurring): oversee giving (outside of peer-to-peer and corporate), including acquisition, donor engagement, retention, donor acquisition and donor care plans and execution. This includes improving existing donor journeys/comms, sending an annual supporter survey (online),and managing gratitude day activities (September)
- Manage all reporting related to your portfolio, and contribute to monthly board reports
Skills Required
A diligent and diversely skilled marketer, with strong copywriting abilities who is confident working independently and has a passion to make a difference to the lives of those in the NF community. This role requires a varied skill set that blends marketing, branding, public relations, fundraising and communications with a strong focus on the ability to write compelling copy to engage audiences. A hands-on attitude willing to pitch in where necessary is also essential.
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing or communications or similar
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role (marketing or communications)
- Strategic and creative thinker with strong experience leading multichannel marketing campaigns
- Strong experience of website CMS management, marketing automation systems and CRMs (preferably Salesforce)
- Demonstrated data analysis skills, including tracking and analytics
- Experience using and managing business social media accounts (as well as tools like Google Analytics and Meta Business Suite) including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Excellent written/oral communication and copywriting skills
- Ability to create eye-catching designs in Canva for ads, social media, presentations etc ensuring all marketing materials align with brand guidelines
- Proven ability to set and meet fundraising or revenue objectives
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector
- A small team mindset, willing to roll up your sleeves to get the work done
- Availability to work weekends to attend fundraising events (infrequent). These events will also be interstate from time to time throughout the year.
