Child’s Play Qld provides professional Psychological services primarily to children aged 3–18 years, and increasingly with adults. Our Operations team is dedicated to working with our experienced therapists as they support children through their therapeutic journey. Based in Holland Park West, Brisbane, we are a small and passionate team committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients, supporting each other as we go.
About the Role
The Contracting General / Clinical Psychologist is responsible for providing evidence-based treatment to members of the community. They may sub-contract client work provided the Directors are notified and agree in advance, and it is in the clients’ best interests. Services will be provided through a range of funding sources. The Psychologist will work autonomously in their clinical duties, maintain current and historical client records, and support other therapists and the Child’s Play Team. The Psychologist will directly engage supervision and support appropriate to their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic sessions to referred clients using evidence-based interventions.
- Develop tailored treatment plans for referred clients using prior knowledge and research skills.
- Collate handouts for referred clients for homework and therapeutic aids.
- Complete and maintain electronic client notes and reports for sessions to an appropriate standard as outlined by APS Code of Ethics/Supervisor standards.
- Write letters to other health professionals and external agencies to assist the client in continual access to health and other services.
- Meet supervision requirements and attend professional development as per AHPRA guidelines.
- Comply with subpoena or court appearance requests on behalf of referred clients.
- Attend case conferences for referred clients to assist in service provision.
- Support Marketing campaigns as needed.

- Using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

- Must be flexible and able to take managerial direction as required.
- Willingness to engage and support in a team-based environment.
