We are seeking an experienced and motivated Maternal and Child Health (MCH) nurse to join our vibrant nurse team who is able to work independently and contribute to a team environment.
The primary focus of this role is to coordinate an evidence-informed Sleep and Settling Outreach Consultation Program to support parents and care givers to be confident and capable in their decision making related to their children.
This position requires the MCH Nurse to deliver the MCH Sleep and Settling Outreach Consultation program within the guidelines of the Department of Health. It also encompasses MCH referral, intake, clinical documentation and evaluation processes to ensure guidelines are being met. This is an exciting opportunity for a positive and compassionate registered MCH nurse to further develop and sustain the program to continue to meet program goals.
This position sits within the Early Year’s services at Council and includes provision of intensive 1:1 coaching with a primary care giver as per Sleep and Settling Model of Care (DHHS, 2019). The role includes home visiting, telehealth and additional outreach work as required to assist client goals.
To be successful in this role you will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with families, colleagues, welfare and early year’s professionals.
Applicants with previous experience, training and background working with vulnerability and trauma-informed care models will be highly considered. Training in the Sleep and Settling will be provided by the Department and it is expected the successful applicant is to complete this.
A position in the MCH team will involve working from one of the MCH integrated sites across the City of Ballarat, which are predominantly co-located early learning hubs. Days of work will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
