The City of Casey is one of Victoria’s largest and one of the fastest growing and most diverse cities. A such, it is home to one of the largest youth populations in Victoria and our Youth Counselling and Support Services team supports on average over 1000 appointments per year. 

Our Youth Counselling and Support Services team works across various locations in the municipality, including Bunjil Place, our Youth Information Centres, schools, community centres etc.

A bit about the role:

In this hands-on role, young people in Casey are your key stakeholders and drive everything you do as the Team Leader Youth Counselling and Support Services. 

Whether it’s working collaboratively with our small but passionate Youth Engagement leadership team or nurturing new and existing connections in the community, every task on your to-do list is integral to achieving quality outcomes for young people and their families in Casey.

Best of all, you have the opportunity to continue work directly with young people by managing a small caseload and supporting your team of counsellors in delivering relevant and innovative services.

What you’ll deliver

  • High quality service reflective of current mental health legislation and guidelines.
  • A future thinking team culture with innovative and strategic planning.
  • Strong collaboration with the Child Youth & Family Engagement Team Leaders to enhance service delivery to the community.
  • Strengthened referral pathways enabling young people to engage with the services they need.

What you’ll bring

  • Engagement with young people
  • Significant experience delivering therapeutic interventions in mental health.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mental health service and framework including the stepped care model of support.
  • Your individual talents and skillset to incorporate in engagement and strategic planning.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships in the community and within council through collaboration and shared leadership.
  • Relevant qualifications as per position description with AHPRA registration desirable
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
