About the role  

The City Strategy team is a key part of Council's City Strategic Planning business unit, it is focused on shaping the development and monitoring of key Council environmental and social, strategies, plans and policy. 

We are seeking a Project Team Lead that will support Environmental Sustainability and City Resilience through, strategic advice, advocacy, and partnership management. 

The position will report to the City Strategy Manager and will lead a team of four Environmental Strategists supporting the monitoring and implementation of Council’s Environmental Sustainability Strategy.  

The permanent full-time role will play an important role as a key point of contact working with stakeholders internally and externally to drive progress and respond to issues related to Council’s environmental priorities.

About You 

Applicants should have demonstrated experience in leading the development and implementation of a range of environmental sustainability or resilience related policy, plans or strategies.  

Ideally, applicants will have demonstrated experience in the following: 

  •  Leading cross-functional and multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Environmental or Resilience data analysis, research, monitoring and reporting.
  • Strategic advocacy and policy development based on relevant environmental planning legislation and regulatory issues,
  • Strategic planning and policy related communications and media.
  • Strong communication skills and effective management of partnerships, including both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Local Government highly desirable.

Along with the following essential qualification: 

Tertiary qualification in urban planning, environmental science, project management or related strategy field. 

What’s on Offer 

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $142,245 - $156,619 plus 11.5% superannuation.
