The role:

Are you passionate about supporting families and enhancing the well-being of young children? Join our dynamic Maternal & Child Health (MCH) team as an Early Childhood Educator for our Sleep & Settling (S&S) Program.

We’re looking for a warm, dedicated professional with experience in the MCH service or in a parenting support role. 

In this role, you'll work alongside our S&S MCH Nurse to deliver evidence-based sleep and settling support to parents. You’ll engage with families through group sessions and targeted outreach, focusing on positive parenting practices and ensuring healthy outcomes for young children. 

In this role, you’ll be able to use your good judgment to assess situations, spotting any concerns and addressing them in a way that keeps families safe and supported.

About you:

  • Experienced in Family Support: Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood development and experience in working with families to address sleep and settling concerns.
  • Skilled in Group Facilitation and Parent Education: Ability to lead engaging group sessions for parents, fostering a supportive learning environment and encouraging family-led solutions.
  • Culturally Responsive: Sensitivity to diverse family backgrounds and needs, ensuring inclusive and respectful service delivery.
  • Organised and Detail-Oriented: Strong time management skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records of service delivery and outcomes.
  • Knowledge of Relevant Community Resources: Familiarity with local support services, and a commitment to connecting families with resources that support healthy development.
  • Effective Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of building trust with parents and collaborating effectively within the MCH team.
