The City of Yarra is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Youth Engagement Officer to join our team at the Richmond Youth Hub. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting and empowering young people aged 8 to 25, connecting them with valuable programs and services, and contributing to a vibrant and inclusive community.

About the Role

As a Youth Engagement Officer, you will:

  • Welcome young people to the Richmond Youth Hub and ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Provide information and referrals to a range of youth services, both within the Hub and in the wider community.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging programs, events, and activities for young people.
  • Build positive relationships with schools, community organisations, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the online presence of Yarra Youth Services through social media and website content.
  • Provide administrative support, including responding to inquiries, maintaining records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the Hub.

You are someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for working with young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is a team player with a proactive and can-do attitude.
  • Has experience or qualifications in youth work, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Is proficient in using computers and social media platforms.
  • Is committed to the safety and wellbeing of young people.
