We are one of Australia’s largest and most experienced carbon farming project developers. This includes more than 160 projects with farmers, plantation managers, agribusiness, and Indigenous groups on carbon farming projects.

Climate Friendly has delivered over 20Mt in carbon abatement as at the end of 2020. Our immediate mission is to establish partnerships, by 2025, that will store or reduce 150Mt of CO2-e, while repairing nature and supporting reconciliation.

The role

As Due Diligence Coordinator, you will work as part of a small team to coordinate the implementation of Due Diligence & Initial Audit tasks and processes, delivering technical reports and Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) issuance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing project eligibility checks and preparing due diligence reports
  • Participation in the technical review process for potential projects
  • Assisting in the preparation of registration pack, offsets reports, audit packs, and the quality assurance of key input data
  • Assisting with the coordination of audits
  • Maintaining positive communication with third party auditors
  • Coordinating corrective action requests in a timely, efficient manner
  • Supporting the finalisation of audit processes in line with the audit schedule
  • Assisting with performing quality assurance processes on registration pack and audit packs

About you

  • Background in environmental science, ecology or land management, agriculture, forestry, and experience in project auditing and/or reporting, and/or due diligence processes, with relevant professional experience
  • Very high-level written communication skills and exceptional attention to detail for a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a cross functional role
  • Creative and independent thinker, capable of both following highly prescriptive guidelines, but also proposing solutions when unprecedented issues arise
  • Demonstrated experience in a time critical environment, working on multiple priorities in parallel, and coordinating project delivery against timelines
  • Experience in managing a complex workflow with competing priorities and resourcing demands
  • Experience working within quality assurance/ quality control processes
  • Experience working with Microsoft suite (particularly Excel), and ideally exposure to mapping systems like QGIS and/or willingness and capacity to quickly upskill in this space
  • Ability to confidently work unsupervised and as part of a team
