Lead Innovation in Community Media Training

The Community Media Training Organisation (CMTO) is looking for an experienced National Training Manager to help shape the future of training in Australia’s vibrant and diverse community broadcasting sector.

CMTO is a nationally recognised Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and charity dedicated to providing engaging, inclusive, and accessible training for community broadcasters across Australia. We have a very focused set of certified courses, run specifically for the community broadcasting sector. We empower Indigenous, multilingual, religious, disability, ethnic, and regional voices, fostering skills and opportunities in the ever- evolving media landscape. Our purpose it to build the capabilities and capacity of the community broadcast sector.
As National Training Manager, you will lead our certified course training strategy, developing cutting-edge learning experiences, and ensuring our programs meet the highest industry and compliance standards and deliver the skills needed by a range of community broadcasters.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and innovating by driving CMTO’s national certified training strategy, implementing forward-thinking blended learning and online education solutions.
- Designing and creating best in class, course content, that is inclusive and accessible by a very diverse range of students.
- Empowering trainers by supervising and supporting our national network of trainer- assessors, ensuring best-practice delivery and continuous professional development.
- Building partnerships with community broadcasters, trainers, industry leaders, and funding bodies to create impactful training programs.
- Ensuring excellence by overseeing compliance with RTO standards, funding agreements, and training quality benchmarks while fostering an inclusive, accessible learning environment.
- Supporting strategic growth by working closely with the CEO to develop budgets, training targets, and operational strategies that strengthen CMTO’s sustainability and reach.
What We’re Looking For
- An experienced training leader with a minimum of five years in vocational education, training, or a related field. A Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or equivalent) is essential; a relevant degree is highly desirable.
- Comfortable with learning technology, digital learning platforms, and emerging media training tools.
- Strategic and organised, with proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, develop training programs, and oversee compliance.
- An engaging communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills, experienced in working across diverse communities and regions.
- A strong interest in media, with a background in community media, broadcasting, or creative industries highly regarded.
