The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, providing specialist knowledge and support to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Our vision is that young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds are connected, empowered and influential Australians.
About the Role
The Multicultural Youth Worker-CSG role will work directly with South Sudanese young people, their families and the wider community to ensure young people are connected and engaged with their families, education and employment opportunities. This position will focus largely on outreach and support for young people through a combination of short-term youth support, sport and recreation, and group work activities, referrals where appropriate and connecting young people to mentors and role models.
- Hours: 30.8 hours per week (FTE), Part Time
- Fixed Term: until 30/09/2025
- Base Salary (SCHADS Level 4 ): $85,120.15 per annum plus Super and access to Salary Packaging (Salary Packaging is a great way to increase the value of your salary by allowing you to receive a portion of your income in the form of tax free or tax-deductible benefits.)

You will have
- Demonstrated experience of youth outreach and developing and facilitating group work activities that build the skills, capacity and connections of South Sudanese young people;
- Case management or youth support experience and demonstrated ability to manage complex young people and family issues.
- Ability to build partnerships with organisations and create referral pathways so young people can access these services ;
- A sound understanding of youth participation, community development principles and knowledge of support and community services; and
- Demonstrated high-level written, verbal and interpersonal skills
