The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, providing specialist knowledge and support to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. About the Role
CMY seeks a Multicultural Youth Worker who will be responsible for delivering proactive and responsible learning and development activities to young people aged 16-25 years who are either currently involved in the criminal justice system or present as having a high risk of engaging in criminal activity.
The role will support the development of appropriate structures with diverse communities to advance outcomes for young people and their families.
- Hours: 30.4 - 38 hours per week (0.8 - 1.0FTE), Part Time / Full Time
- Fixed Term: until: 31/12/2025
- Base Salary (SCHADS Level 4.1 ): $85,120.15 per annum plus Super and access to Salary Packaging (Salary Packaging is a great way to increase the value of your salary by allowing you to receive a portion of your income in the form of tax free or tax-deductible benefits.)
- Location: Sunshine
- Interviews: to be held in the week beginning 17 March 2025
You will have
- An ability to engage young people with multiple barriers to develop education, training and employment pathway plans;
- An ability to determine the appropriate wrap-around services required to support successful completion of pathway plans along with the ability to successfully refer to required support services;
- Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present and write reports and activity plans;
- An ability to work both independently and within a team environment including the ability to collaborate effectively within care teams.
