The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, providing specialist knowledge and support to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. About the Role

CMY seeks a Youth Facilitator who will be responsible for engaging young people to participate in CMY’s youth led activities. This role will involve promoting CMY’s work in the Horsham and Nhill communities, and supporting the delivery of youth participation outcomes. This includes providing administrative support to a small team of youth advisors and co-facilitating social and recreational group activities. The Youth Facilitator will work alongside a Multicultural Youth Worker.

• Hours: Casual
• Salary (SCHADS 2): $34.44 per hour (includes 25% loading)
• Location: Horsham and Nhill

You will have

• An understanding of and sensitivity to issues affecting young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds, youth participation and community development principles;
• Experience in assisting with co-delivering programs to young people and an understanding of positive group facilitation and training practices;
• Experience in assisting delivering programs in partnership with other organisations with an ability to connect with a diverse range of people in communities;
• Strong organisational, planning and administration skills, along with flexibility and adaptability to work in changing environments;
• Well-developed written communication and computer skills.
