The Cancer Nurses Society of Australia is the professional association for cancer nurses nationally. With over 2,000 members, we are now seeking a full-time Membership and Events Manager to join our growing team.

This position will suit an individual who can work autonomously across multiple projects, enjoys developing and nurturing relationships, and has the capacity to work from home with support from a fully remote workplace.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning and execution of membership engagement initiatives and event programs. You will enjoy collaborating with volunteer committees, managing hybrid event formats, supporting communities of practice, stakeholder engagement, and driving membership growth and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow and retain CNSA membership.
  • Manage relationships with volunteer committees to support event planning and execution.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of hybrid (in-person and virtual) events, including conferences, webinars, and networking events.
  • Oversee the development and coordination of communities of practice.
  • Support and promote CNSA's mentoring program to enhance member engagement.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships to strengthen partnerships and collaborations.
  • Oversee event budgets, timelines, and logistics.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events and membership benefits.
  • Analyse membership data to inform engagement strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all organisational policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in membership management and event coordination.
  • Proven experience managing hybrid events.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and community engagement.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Reporting Line: Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Direct Reports: Membership and Events Coordinator, Membership and Events Support

Delegation of Authority: Authority to manage event budgets, approve operational expenses within approved limits, and engage external vendors and partners.
