Senior Biodiversity Officer - Bendigo

  • Salary Range: $94,102 - $105,292 + super

An exciting opportunity exists within the Climate Change and Environment Unit for an experienced Senior Biodiversity Officer. The role will lead the City of Greater Bendigo’s response to the biodiversity breakdown, including designing and implementing strategic projects to regenerate the regional landscape and contribute to climate mitigation and adaptation activities.

The successful candidate will require extensive ecological knowledge including skills in establishing landscape scale biodiversity restoration initiatives and monitoring programs in collaboration with other agency and community stakeholders. The candidate will also require the ability to be creative, think strategically and inspire others to participate in collective action. An understanding of the legislative context relevant to conservation and the natural environment and the role local government plays in achieving biodiversity outcomes is also required.

The role will suit someone who is passionate about enhancing biodiversity across the Greater Bendigo region, who enjoys working collaboratively within a team, who has excellent communication skills and is committed to meaningful and effective community and stakeholder partnerships.

If you hold tertiary qualifications with several years of experience in Ecology, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, or similar discipline, we welcome your application.
