Through our Neighbourhood Centres and Community Development programs, we also offer emergency relief, social inclusion activities, food security, multicultural support, community gardens, and venue hire.

About this role

The Finance Manager (Community Services) will oversee the financial matters relating to specific Community services programs, including Housing and Homelessness, Family and Individual Support and Neighborhood Centres, amongst others, by managing the financial planning, financial reporting, grant reporting and budgeting processes. The role involves collaborating with the CFO to ensure financial strategies align with business objectives, optimising financial performance, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Lead and mentor two direct reports, providing guidance and professional development while fostering a high-performance culture.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Commerce
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • 10+ years in financial and/or management accounting
  • Understanding of not for profit grants and acquittal processes desired
  • Understanding of budgetary principles desired
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and problem solve in a busy work environment.
  • High degree of computer literacy, particularly spread sheet functions and the ability to learn a range of accounting software applications and Client Management Data Management systems.
  • Highly organised with demonstrated time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change and implement process improvements to meet current and future objectives.
  • Team leadership experience

To note

  • Advanced knowledge of of financial software desirable (e.g. Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, Netsuite, ProSpend, Martus and ELMO).
  • We operate in a flexible work environment with WFH options for 1 day/week
  • Previous experience working with not-for-profits highly regarded
