About Us

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

The Drug Court (DC) is a statutory division of the Magistrates' Court of Victoria and part of MCV Specialist Courts and Programs.

About the Role

Working in collaboration with the Drug Court Operations Managers and central administration of MCV Drug Court, the DC Project Officer supports the delivery of local and global MCV Drug Court projects that are aligned to the strategic objectives and vision of the MCV Drug Court.

The role works directly with the DC teams and the MCV Drug Court central administration to ensure both local and global projects and activities are collaborative and undertaken in line with appropriate governance approaches, structures and better practice principles.
The project officer champions local initiatives and program enhancements through the MCV and MCV Drug Court governance structures and supports the review and evaluation of MCV Drug Court processes to identify continuous improvement opportunities to better support strategic objectives and priorities.

About You

  • Demonstrated expertise or knowledge of the principles and processes of project management, project lifecycle stages and project management methodologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in supporting and coordinating projects through the full project lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Victorian Courts and Tribunals, with particular reference to problem-solving courts and therapeutic jurisprudence, desirable
