About the role

The Finance Business Partner is responsible for the provision of financial information and services to the business. The role is embedded in a business unit to provide financial information, tools, analysis and insights to stakeholders, challenging their thinking, helping them make more informed decisions and driving business strategy.

Responsibilities of the role (not limited to):

  • Partner with designated business managers; provide information and expertise to develop financial plans, increase financial/commercial capabilities and understanding to ensure the financial sustainability of the business.
  • Prepare regular reports to inform managers of ongoing business performance and to provide input into management reports.
  • Monitor and maintain awareness of the income, expenditure and cash flow; identify trends and variances; and liaise with managers to understand and document the commercial drivers impacting financial variances.
  • Ascertain claims rejection; follow-up with business managers to ensure cash is collected in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an understanding of the NDIS financial processes to ensure effective collection of payment.
  • Prepare business unit budgets and maintain forecasts requirements.
  • Prepare financial reports to ensure compliance with Australian legal and regulatory requirements (including ACNC ASIC, various Charitable fundraising Acts, Workers Compensation, ATO, etc. requirements).
  • Prepare financial acquittals as required for Government grants/Donor funds.

About you:

Key competencies in order to succeed in this role are as follows

  • CA qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience within allied health or NDIS industry preferred
  • Commercial experience and a proven ability to identify and implement system and process improvements.
  • Superior communication skills including the ability to build relationships across the organisation and effectively communicate complex financial management and accounting issues to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders to deliver commercial outcomes.
  • Problem solving, decision making and excellent organisational skills.
  • High attention to detail and a focus on integrity of data.
  • Strong system skills and experience of working with a large ERP system.
  • Involvement with implementation of new systems.
