The Public Service Association of SA (PSA) is the principal trade union representing state public sector workers who provide a wide range of public services to the South Australian community.

The PSA is committed to pursuing the interests of its members through strong, effective representation and advocacy, and is dedicated to promoting the value and importance of the public sector in our community.

The Member Relations Officer works within the Membership Team to make contact with PSA members, encourage active membership and improve member retention.

The Member Relations Officer is responsible for communicating with members, Organisers and Industrial Officers towards a common goal of growing and retaining union membership. The Member Relations Officer will work collaboratively with all parties to devise and implement solutions to issues .

The Member Relations Officer also works on outreach and campaigns aimed at growing membership and encouraging eligible workers to join the PSA.

This is a 12 month contract position working full time, based in the Adelaide CBD.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Undertake outreach activities and contribute to campaigns related to membership growth.

  • Make contact with members who have indicated an interest or intent to resign from the union, to encourage and secure their continued membership.

  • Maintain high membership retention by analysing feedback from members and identifying growth opportunities.

  • Assist with monitoring and following up on outstanding debts, negotiating payment plans, and maintaining accurate records of all transactions.

  • Develop strong communications and relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
