This position has been established as part of the ACT Disability Justice Strategy to foster a shared approach to providing access to justice to people with disability. You will take a leading role in supporting CYF to improve experiences and access to services for children, young people and parents with a disability involved with Children, Youth and Families.
The position will be required to work closely with CYF practitioners and relevant agencies to promote service delivery that is disability informed, and rights based. This will be achieved by improving support pathways, collaboration, sharing of information, and individual advocacy. In collaboration with the cross-system community of practice you will also identify and address systemic barriers that impact access to justice for people with disability.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.
A merit pool may be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
