Macquarie Correctional Centre is a dormitory-style facility housing maximum-security sentenced and unsentenced male inmates. It is located next to Wellington Correctional Centre, approximately 345 km northwest of Sydney. The positive staff culture at Macquarie focuses on inmate rehabilitation and well-being, with all disciplines working collaboratively toward this goal. The centre operates on a structured day model, allowing inmates to spend half the day working and the other half engaged in education and programs.
Wellington Correctional Centre is a large facility that accommodates maximum, medium, and minimum security sentenced and unsentenced male and female inmates. As a psychologist, you will be part of a dedicated team of psychologists or a multi-disciplinary team providing direct psychological assessment, intervention, and therapeutic services to offenders within both custodial and community settings.
You will also provide expert consultation to staff and statutory authorities on the management of individuals within your allocated area, ensuring evidence-based and ethical practices are consistently applied.
A position description is attached.
