We are the only Australian organisation dedicated exclusively to funding emerging researchers, creating a pipeline of future research success. Our seed funding has kick-started over 567 cancer researcher careers and led to numerous global breakthroughs in cancers including brain cancer, breast cancer, immunotherapy, pancreatic cancer and childhood leukaemia. Without our funding, these discoveries may never have been made.

The Role:

You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic fundraising initiatives across the Community Fundraising portfolio including peer 2 peer campaigns such as BarbeCURE & Swim for a CURE and all 3rd party events. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of major fundraising campaigns, and other peer-to-peer fundraising activities
  • Manage and enhance existing annual flagship fundraising campaigns to optimise engagement & results.
  • Analyse & review performance, identifying alternative approaches to improve program performance.
  • Manage the fundraising budget to meet annual income targets
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications teams to create acquisition and promotion strategies for fundraising initiatives.
  • Execute onboarding and stewardship for community fundraisers to increase participation, conversion rates, and fundraising success.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting on income and campaign outcomes.
  • Manage third-party fundraising platforms, supporting custom fundraising sites and campaigns in collaboration with external and internal teams.
  • Attend fundraising events throughout the year to support on the day activities and develop relationships with supporters.
  • Manage and coordinate volunteers across events, campaigns and community activities.
  • Support partnerships, proposals, presentations and fundraising initiatives across community and individuals.
  • Support with fundraising administration tasks and reporting as required, including, phone and email enquiries, donation processing, fulfilment of merchandise to support fundraiser activity.

Skills & Experience:

  • Superior project management skills, with the ability to collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in campaign execution & event management.
  • Knowledge of donor management systems and digital fundraising tools.
  • Knowledge of fundraising in the NFP sector.
  • Demonstrated experience of meeting and exceeding revenue targets, developing and executing new fundraising strategies to deliver growth.
  • Exceptional written skills and the ability to engage supporters, donors and community fundraisers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capacity for creative, innovative and dynamic thinking.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends when required.

Desirable Candidate Attributes:

  • 2-5 years’ experience in similar fundraising roles.
  • Knowledge of online fundraising technology, operational processes portals and systems, including third party fundraising donation platforms (Funraisin, Grassrootz, Go Fundraise or similar).
  • Experience using Salesforce (or similar) CRM; Marketing Cloud Account Engagement marketing automation (or similar email platform); and social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
  • Experience working with community groups and individuals to support fundraising goals.
  • The candidate must have the legal right to live and work in Australia.
