About the role

The Account Manager will support the communications team to deliver numerous communications, engagement and marketing projects concurrently. The Account Manager position entails:

  • Working in a client focused team, committed to best practice when working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities
  • Co-ordinating communication strategies and public relations activities to meet client needs and achieve project outcomes.
  • Establishing productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned client accounts.
  • Drafting key messages and strategies ensuring consistency with brand, values, and factual accuracy.
  • Identifying and leveraging media and social media opportunities to reach specified target audiences, and meet client needs.
  • Creating productive media relations with various multicultural media outlets.
  • Assisting with client services and ensuring strong communication with our clients.
  • Engaging and consulting with various stakeholder and community members around issues relating to diversity for a range of clients in the government, private and community sector.
  • Proactively assessing, clarifying, and validating client needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Undertaking tender, proposal and quotation responses.
  • Conducting analysis of campaign and strategic outputs and preparing detailed written reports and verbal presentations.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects from kick-off to delivery.
  • Grow your dedicated accounts through identification of mutually beneficial opportunities.

Selection Criteria

To be successful for the role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated capacity or previous experience to design and deliver communication and public relations strategies.
  • Experience in communications in either advertising, campaigning, marketing, public relations, media relations, public affairs or community advocacy related work (minimum 2 years).
  • An understanding of communications with and engagement of linguistically and culturally diverse communities.
  • Exceptional project management skills including ability to work on multiple projects and tasks concurrently, manage budgets, timelines and deadlines efficiently.
  • Manage relationships with all stakeholders—clients, external agencies and suppliers, and publishers
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and to think creatively.
  • Strong verbal, editing and writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – demonstrated ability to work with all levels of internal management and staff with a positive mindset and adaptable to changes.
  • Strong collaboration and problem solving skills.

Desirable:

  • Direct experience working in a diversity-related field will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with using and editing website platforms such as Squarespace/WordPress
  • Experience with design tools and programs such as Canva, Adobe suite
  • Strong competency in all Microsoft Office applications particularly, Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
