The Role:

The Return to Work (RTW) Officer forms a vital role in CVGT's management of its duty of care in providing a safe workplace to its most important stakeholders, our employees. This role will provide a first point of contact to injured employees and advice on workers compensation claim process and work closely with injured employee in a case management capacity. The role will consult with the injured employee, their manager and other stakeholders to develop suitable RTW strategies designed to have the employee back to their pre-injury duties as soon as practicable.

This role is part-time (0.5 EFT) with hours and days flexible. The position can be located at our Head Office in Long Gully (Bendigo) or can be based at another one of our locations - depending on availability of the preferred sites. 

Key Accountabilities:

• Manage RTW and provide an identified point of contact
• Develop RTW plans and liaise with stakeholders
• Case management
• Process claims and ensure compliance
• Administration and communication requirements
• Preventative strategies
• Provide general support and advice the staff and managers at all levels regarding RTW matters

Key Selection Criteria:

• Experience working effectively with injured workers and designing RTW plans
• Experience using a Health and Safety and/or Risk Management systems
• Experience managing claims and a solid understanding of the WorkCover systems in place across Australia
• Appropriate RTW qualifications 
• Effective time management and record keeping skills
• Proven ability to work independently and autonomously
• Demonstrate a high level of integrity and a willingness to see tasks through to completion
