Are you an experienced Finance Officer looking for more than just a job? Desert Accounting & Business Support (DABS) is a purpose-driven not-for-profit organisation based in East Perth, providing outsourced Accounting, Payroll, and Human Resources services to Indigenous organisations and communities across remote Western Australia.

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Officer to join our growing team. What’s On Offer

  • Full-time role with flexible working arrangements (including two work-from-home days).
  • A base salary of Level 3.1 ($78,481) per annum to Level 3.6 ($91,975) per annum as per the EBA.
  • Salary packaging benefits of up to $15,899 p.a., plus an additional $2,650 entertainment card allowance.
  • Free onsite parking at our East Perth office.

Your Role

As a Finance Officer at DABS, you will deliver high-quality financial services to a portfolio of clients. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day financial processing, assisting with reporting and compliance, and contributing to effective financial management for a variety of community-focused organisations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger transactions.
  • Assist with payroll processing and reconciliation in line with client requirements and compliance standards.
  • Prepare and lodge compliance reports such as BAS and IAS.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and audit support documentation.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and maintain fixed asset registers.
  • Liaise with clients to collect financial documentation and provide day-to-day financial support.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance internal systems and service delivery.
  • Travel occasionally to remote client sites to provide on-the-ground support and build relationships.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Solid experience in financial processing, reporting, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, or similar.
  • A sound understanding of Australian accounting and taxation standards.
  • Previous experience in a multi-client environment or not-for-profit sector is highly regarded.
