  • Temporary, Part time (parental leave cover)

About the Role

The Aged Housing Officer supports current or former residents of Darebin to access secure, long-term housing in an estate where all residents are aged 55 and over.

The emphasis of the role for the parental leave period will be to:

  • Coordinate the Darebin Older Persons Public Housing Sponsorship program in partnership with Office of Housing and other key community organisations working in the field of Public Housing support.
  • Manage incoming referrals and sponsorship interviews to determine eligibility and suitability to the programme.
  • Provide advocacy, information and short-term linking support to assist older residents in Darebin with housing stress.
  • Review the housing sponsorship waitlist every 3-6 months.
  • Transition the program from Microsoft Access to use the electronic client management system Carelink Plus (CL+) and establish automated reporting.
  • Complete monthly reporting.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in human services, social work, allied health or related discipline and/or lesser formal qualifications with substantial experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of issues affecting older people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and the impact on their health and wellbeing.
  • Knowledge of Public Housing policies and procedures, particularly in relation to older persons housing.
  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence.
  • A current employee Working with Children Card.
