Deakin University’s Human Research Ethics Committee (DUHREC) is seeking a Professional Care member to review ethics applications and attend meetings in the Melbourne CBD (Deakin Downtown).
DUHREC reviews research projects involving human participants from all of the university’s faculties: Arts and Education; Business and Law; Health; Science, Engineering and Built Environment.
Projects that members are asked to review can range from Clinical Trials, diet and exercise studies, classroom learning, Indigenous health, political and social enquiry, mental health, ethnography and the creative arts, technology and the built environment, to the impacts of climate change.
The role of the Committee is to make sure that research involving humans is ethically acceptable, aligns with national guidelines, ensures participants are respected and that the risks and benefits of the research have been considered.
We are looking for an eligible Professional Care member who is defined as:
A person with knowledge of, and current experience in, the professional care or treatment of people e.g. GP, nurse, counsellor or allied health professional.
