Role Details
The Director, Disability Policy and Reform is a role within Disability Services and is accountable to the Executive Director, Disability for:

Providing leadership and oversight of South Australia’s intergovernmental interface for disability including Australia’s Disability Strategy and the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Providing leadership in setting the strategic directions, policies and actions for the State Disability Inclusion Plan.

Developing strategic vision for South Australia’s policy for disability inclusion and demonstrate the ability to lead change in a complex political and social environment.

Providing support and developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships with government (across South Australia and nationally) and non-government agencies and community organisations.

Leading a team that identifies, develops, contributes to and implements strategies that build the capacity of the disability sector and organisations supporting people with a disability so that they can participate fully and safely in the society and economy of South Australia.
- The role will establish and implement strategic directions for the State Disability Inclusion Plan.
- Provide high-level advice to senior executives and government officials on policy and reforms.
- Lead a strategic office focused on community outcomes and promoting disability inclusion.
- Monitor reporting requirements and manage data and accountability systems.
- Represent senior executives on committees, offering strategic insights on departmental issues.

- Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C).
- Tertiary qualification in public policy or other relevant field is desirable.
- Travel may be required.

They provide supported independent living to more than 500 people through a range of disability and aged care funding packages, including the NDIS.
