ABOUT THE ROLE
Dress for Success NSW & ACT is seeking a Volunteer & Services Coordinator with exceptional administration, IT and organisational skills to coordinate our volunteers and career support program. From coordinating volunteer shifts to scheduling workshops, the Volunteer & Services Coordinator ensures the successful delivery of our client programs, which enable clients to grow.
The Volunteer & Services Coordinator is also responsible for ensuring client and volunteer information is recorded correctly in our systems, assisting the business to run effectively and efficiently.
The role requires someone with high level organisational and planning skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong digital proficiency is vital, with demonstrated experience using various IT platforms and the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
The role is based at our head office in Summer Hill (Sydney). The role is part-time (minimum 30 hours per week over 5 days) or full-time. Hours will be negotiated with the successful candidate and salary packaging is available.

Dress for Success NSW & ACT is a registered charity that improves the employability of vulnerable women in NSW and ACT. Our mission is to help unemployed and underemployed women achieve economic independence by providing professional styling and clothing, a network of support, career coaching and development tools to help women enter and re-enter the workforce. All our services are free of charge.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Career Program coordination:
- Upload new content to the Career Hub, assisting with formatting and presentation.
- Ensure the smooth running of client workshops, online and in person.
- Collaborate with the DFS team regarding client program planning and evaluation by analysing survey results to identify trends, and opportunities for improvement/expansion.
- Ensure all Career Program material is maintained in line with DFS branding guidelines and organisational requirements.
- Maintain monthly workshop calendar in the Career Hub, ensuring contributions are received and uploaded in a timely manner.
- Maintain central records for all Career Hub content and assets, current and historical.
Volunteer coordination:
- Provide a reliable contact for all Volunteer matters including queries from volunteers and staff.
- Work with the Operations Manager and Volunteer Team Leaders to plan and coordinate Volunteer resources for all services.
- Work with the Program Manager to plan, forecast and provide Volunteer resources for Career Hub programs.
- Maintain a calendar and coordinate Volunteer capability activity, including inductions and other specialist role-based training.
- Maintain the database of all Volunteers, including individual, corporate, and project-based Volunteers.
- Provide information to senior staff on Volunteer activity via regular updates, reports and ad-hoc requests.
- Ensure volunteers are compliant to DFS standards and have current “qualifications” to complete activity they are assigned to.
Operational coordination:
- Support the Operations Manager to effectively oversee the day-to-day office tasks and communications.
- Support the CEO and senior staff to deliver key functions and activities as required.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including external agencies, staff and volunteers as needed.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a customer-facing administration role.
- High level organisational and planning skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to effectively coordinate a range of concurrent activities under pressure.
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Strong digital proficiency with medium-high level Microsoft Office skills and demonstrated experience using Zoom / Teams.
- The ability to learn new systems and processes quickly, including IT systems.
- Desire to work as a collaborative team member with initiative, creativity and a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Passion and interest in the mission of DFS, with a commitment to supporting and enhancing the lives of women.
- Hold a current NSW Working with Children Check (or the ability to gain).
- Unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
Desirable:
- Previous experience working with CRMs (Salesforce preferred), booking and scheduling tools, and volunteering or membership databases.
- WordPress skills and experience.
- Knowledge of current recruitment processes and the Australian job market, to assist in live workshops
- Previous experience working directly with vulnerable or disadvantaged communities
Note. An Australian Police Check is required before offer of employment.
This role is based on SCHADS Award level 2.3. (Total salary package $78,237 including superannuation, based on full time equivalent. Salary packaging is also available - up to $15,900 tax free.)
