About the role

The 2016 Royal Commission into Family Violence recommended the establishment of multiple Safety Hubs across Victoria. Known as the Orange Door, the Program delivers a innovative approach of accessing help and support for women, children and young people who are experiencing family violence as well as families who need support with the care, well being and development of children.

An outstanding opportunity currently exists for a highly motivated individual to join the Orange Door program in the capacity of Advanced Child Protection Practitioner, Community Based – CPP4 classification. This dynamic role is a pivotal position for Child Protection within the Orange Door.

Working within a multi-disciplinary setting the Advanced Child Protection Practitioner, Community Based will provide advice, support and consultation to practitioners within The Orange Door, as well as to Family Services, Specialist Family Violence Services and Men's Services where required. Advice, support and consultation will occur where there are significant concerns for wellbeing of children and young people.

Pivotal to your success in this challenging yet fulfilling role, you will possess demonstrable skills in the following key areas:

  • Highly developed risk assessment skills in a family violence context.
  • Superior understanding of child development, attachment and trauma theories in relation to child protection practice
  • Superior Stakeholder Management experience with the ability to forget relationships at all levels of the organisation
