Lead a Transformational Preventive Health Initiative!
Diabetes Australia is seeking an accomplished leader to oversee and drive the strategic direction of the My health for life (Mh4l) program. This is a unique opportunity to lead a statewide preventive health initiative, funded by the Queensland Government through Health and Wellbeing Queensland, aimed at empowering individuals to make sustainable lifestyle changes and reduce their risk of chronic diseases.
My health for life (Mh4l) is a public health initiative delivered by Diabetes Australia in partnership with the Healthier Queensland Alliance and other key stakeholders. The program is dedicated to improving population health outcomes by supporting Queenslanders in proactively managing their health, reducing hospital admissions, and mitigating the long-term economic burden of chronic disease on the healthcare system.
As the Director of the My health for life program; you will provide high-level strategic leadership, governance, and operational oversight of the program, ensuring it continues to set the benchmark for preventive health initiatives in Australia.
This role requires a highly experienced and engaged professional with expertise in public health program management, stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy and continuous program innovation.
Strategic Program Leadership – Drive the vision and strategic direction of Mh4l, ensuring alignment with public health priorities and best practices.
Governance & Compliance – Oversee program governance, risk management, and adherence to contractual agreements with government and funding bodies.
Stakeholder & Partnership Management – Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, healthcare organisations, industry partners, and community groups.
Program Development & Innovation – Leverage data-driven insights, research, and digital technology to enhance program effectiveness and reach.
Financial Management – Manage program budgets, funding applications, and reporting requirements to ensure sustainability and continued investment.
Leadership & Team Development – Inspire and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a high-performance culture committed to excellence in preventive health.
